Subject: Protect NY Students: Pass Enough is Enough
New York students deserve safe schools. Yet one in five women is sexually assaulted during her college education, 12 New York schools are under federal investigation for failing to prevent sexual violence and bring perpetrators to justice, and survivors are routinely betrayed by their Universities. New York needs to do more.
As a [[student/survivor/parent/alum/New Yorker]] I urge you to fight for the Enough is Enough proposal and make our state a national leader in the fight against sexual assault and domestic violence. This legislation would make affirmative consent the standard at colleges and universities statewide, implement an amnesty policy to keep schools from retaliating against survivors who come forward, raise the bar for prevention, and establish important procedural protections to make sure campus disciplinary systems are fair and equitable for all students involved. We need this bill, and we need it now.
Please stand up for New York’s students and survivors to say Enough is Enough. Vote yes before the close of this legislative session.
